Holidays in Majorca

If you’re looking for a holiday with sun, sand, and sea, Majorca is one destination that ticks all of these boxes. Majorca (or Mallorca) is the largest of Spain’s Balearic islands, and benefits greatly from the sunny Mediterranean weather that this area is renowned for. Although the winter months bring Majorca’s annual temperature down to (a still respectable) 18°C, temperatures can soar above 30°C in the height of summer. This wonderful weather means that locals and tourists alike can make the most of Majorca’s 50 kilometres of beaches all year round, from the clean, white sands of Es Trenc and Playa de Muro, to the mesmerizing gold of Port de Pollença and Cala Agulla. Thanks to the close relationship we share with our hoteliers, we here at Best4Travel have a vast selection of exclusive special offers for the top hotels and resorts across Majorca, including Alcudia , Calas de Mallorca , and Santa Ponsa .

Attractions

The stunning weather that Majorca enjoys has allowed local vineyards to flourish, and for almond and olive trees to become as intrinsic to the image of this island’s beautiful landscape as the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. With such an enchanting scenery, it’s no wonder that the Spanish monarchy chose the Palau de l'Almudaina in the 14th century to become their official royal residence. As a testament to Majorca’s untouched charm, the palace is still used by the Spanish royal family to this day for a variety of ceremonies and state receptions.

The history and culture of Majorca is well maintained, with dozens of museums across the island dedicated to famous Catalan artists such as Joan Miró and Salvador Dali, along with other artists and writers who made Majorca their home, including Josep Coll Bardolet and Robert Graves. There are also well preserved Moorish and Roman archeological sites across Majorca, the most famous of which at Pollentia contains ruins of a Roman town from 70 BC. Only minutes away from the coast, and with tours available in English, these attractions are not to be missed by anyone looking to fully immerse themselves in Majorcan culture.
